This post will be a bit lame without a photo. Unfortunately my blog isn’t cooperating with me tonight and won’t allow me to upload a screen-shot from Etsy’s front page to prove it (grrrrrr…) but I’m excited just the same!
Yay for Fundy Lady! And thank you to the gentleman who purchased a print just a short while ago!

Just before Christmas, my work was included on a site called Lovely Clusters which really is, as the name suggests, lovely. Rachel Follett, the site’s owner/designer, works with Vicki Dvorak to put together and show off groupings of “beautiful handmade and vintage items from creative artists and designers around the world”.
Lovely Clusters displays their member artists’ work in clusters based on colour, style and theme (among other ways). And for those who love to “curate” their own clusters, visit the Create a cluster page to put together your own items. Yours could be posted on the site!
Here are a few I liked:

And while I know Christmas is over for another year, I loved how these looked together:

It really is worth a look…there are so many fabulous artists featured there and I’m honoured to be included.

2010 sounds really strange to me. But not as strange as ‘10 or as some (my husband - who shall remain nameless) would say, “Oh-10″, which I really don’t get. Why is he just dropping the 2? Makes no sense to me so I think I’ll stick with “Twenty-Ten”.
So happy 2010 everyone! I’m not really making any resolutions, but I do have lots of plans for this year. Some involve my family, some involve my health and lots involve my photography business. And I can’t wait to get started so stay tuned.
I hope you all savour this last lazy holiday Sunday before all the normal routines begin again tomorrow. I’m actually looking forward to that!

….I’ve started photographing families again.
And I’m grateful to this family for trusting me with their memories this year.
My friend (mom in these photos) sent me an email today asking me to please post a few because “patience is a virtue, just not one of mine”. Which made me laugh, as you always do, S.
Maybe I should also post the one I have of you in the Bahamas wearing blonde curly hair extensions? Something about “Mrs. Dog the Bounty Hunter” wasn’t it? ha ha
Hopefully this will help with the wait until I post your gallery.
Thanks again B Family!!

This weekend, from August 28 - midnight August 30, to be exact, I’m having a BOGO sale at my Etsy shop at www.janetwhalen.etsy.com.
If you buy one print at the regular price, you’ll receive another one of equal or lesser value for 1/2 price! I will refund the difference by Paypal within 24 hours of purchase and you only pay shipping for one item. This offer excludes my greeting/art cards only, but everything else in the shop is fair game!
Thanks for stopping by and come back soon because I’m adding some new work shortly and will have some new sales as well!
It’s always such a fun surprise to see my photos featured on another blog. This time, my image “Deep Cove” (#9 below) was included in a collage of “boating” images on the Photographers of Etsy blog. I love visting that blog for inspiration….so much great work there!

Happy Friday to my “tens” of readers! LOL
I’ve decided I need some tools to help me commit to posting here so I’m instituting “Favourite Things Fridays” where I’ll either feature a shop I’ve “hearted” in my Etsy favourites, or give some blog love to a site I frequent in my internet travels or…..we’ll just see where this takes me!
For today, I want to feature an Etsy shop I have purchased from in the past. The shop is called “Red Leaf” and they sell handmade bath & body products that both work and smell just great! I was instantly attracted to their simple yet vibrant packaging, but it’s the products that will make me purchase again.
My first Red Leaf purchase was the men’s soap and shave cube, women’s shampoo bar and men’s aftershave lotion (photos of each below).

I went on a vacation to the Bahamas in April and took the shampoo bar with me. Not only was it easy to pack because of it’s small size, but it worked just great! My husband, not really one for gushing over personal hygiene products, has already asked me if “the people I got the shave cube from” sell soap too! I figured that was an endorsement in itself so Red Leaf became my first Friday Favourites feature!

I received a fun email this morning that Carmen Bowe of CB Design Studio on etsy had honoured me with a “One Lovely Blog” award. I’ll be back soon with some links to other blogs I think should be recognized with this fun award:

If you remember a few weeks back, I posted about Carmen’s jewelry and this necklace that I thought hinted would make a fabulous mother’s day gift for me? Well the hints worked because I received one on May 10, engraved with my kids’ names and I wear it every day. Couldn’t be happier with it!
Thanks Carmen!
